‘A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains,’ a landscape painting by Wang Ximeng of the Northern Song Dynasty. Silk scroll with blue-green colours, 51.3 cm high and 1188 cm long. No signature or seal. Painted in 1113, it was presented to Emperor Huizong, who then gave it to Cai Jing. There is a colophon by Cai Jing at the end. This painting was created on a single piece of silk, depicting the breathtaking scenery of a thousand miles of rivers and mountains.
